Leave On The Line
By Richard Sutton
Sensing eyes, looking at me
Staring like I’m an unsolved mystery
Just living life behind a blocked up door
Feeding lies, faking a smile
Not knowing that I’m in denial
It pulls me back from all the dreams that I ever knew
Like leaves on the line
I'm the slowest train to ride
But now I know, I’ve been blind
Cuz all the leaves just reside
Within my mind
I miss the call, but pay for the fee
To scared the world will make a fool of me
Avoiding people, every chance I see
Running fast, running from the tears
Making moves that are ruled by fears
I’m just a helpless slave to my anxiety
Like leaves on the line
I'm the slowest train to ride
But now I know, I’ve been blind
Cuz all the leaves just reside
Within my mind
But I can't control this thief
That I call doubt, that you can't see
That broke the will, and split the seams
Of countless human dreams
All the flowing rivers that grew from humble streams
From here, my hope never gleams...
When I see
Like leaves on the line
I'm the slowest train to ride
But now I know, I’ve been blind
Cuz all the leaves just reside
Within my mind
