RICHARD SUTTON
Friend On The Go
By Richard Sutton
I knew her so, like a friend on the go
What I said, was small talk I know
She blew me away, I never knew what to say
Just hoping, I would say it someday
But I, I never saw her again
And all I ask for, is one more chance
I clasp my hands together,
Wishing that she'll be back to stay
Every night, I close my eyes, and pray
My hopes were sown, when I heard her on the phone
It stunned me, to learn she lived alone
All I did was try, just hoping I caught her eye
I would ponder, every time we said goodbye
But I, I never saw her again
And all I ask for, is one more chance
I clasp my hands together
Wishing that she'll be back to stay
Every night, I close my eyes, and pray
The drudgery of work, the stains of life
I would wake up, with bright eyes, and thinking of her
She raised my soul, she brought me out of strife
She made me feel............ so good
But I, I never saw her again
And all I ask for, is one more chance
And I will wait forever, even in the pouring rain
Just to see her............ again
She was my friend on the go
